Cover:  Bald eagles (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) soar near Juneau, Alaska, where the Greens Creek Mine is located nearby. The bald eagle, once a threatened species, is America’s symbol of freedom and democracy.  Kennecott Minerals Company would like to dedicate this year’s Social and Environment Report to those who lost loved ones in the September 11, 2001, World Trade Center attack and to our brave servicemen and women who are fighting to preserve what Americans believe in: freedom and democracy.

Mr. Dave Willson graciously provided the photographs of the bald eagles and Auke Bay, Alaska.  Dave is currently a Surface Tech. 3, Janitor at the Greens Creek Mine with 7.5 years of service.  He continues to fulfill his passion for outdoor photography having spent 45 years in Alaska.
